While many of you may be familiar with our Pit Cru BBQ Catering Division we are looking forward to a big 2016 with lots of new changes for this Cru division including a new Pit Master! Cru Cafe Chef Travers Horton will be moving over to our Catering side as the official Pit Master for Pit Cru.

Travers  joined Cru Cafe as Chef de Cuisine in 2008 and was promoted to Pit Master for Cru Catering’s Pit Cru division in 2016. During his time at Cru Café he was an asset to Cru’s brand of eclectic Lowcountry cuisine adding innovation and gourmet flare to Charleston’s beloved traditional dishes.

His claim to fame? His Bar B Que. “BBQ isn’t simply applying BBQ sauce to meat and throwing it on the grill.  Cooking with a smoker is somewhat of an art, a difficult one, if you’ve ever tried it yourself,” says Horton, making him the perfect fit to take lead and mold the newly launched Pit Cru BBQ and Southern fare catering division.

We are looking forward to a tasty and fun 2016 here at Cru!
