With the holidays quickly approaching many of you are busy brainstorming about upcoming events. Whether it’s your first event or an annual affair hosting is stressful. Here are a few tips from Cru on how to best plan an upcoming event:
1- Set a date and stick to it. You won’t be able to accomadate everyone, and that is okay. By sticking with one date guests can better plan, adjust and prepare for the event. *Invitations, e-vites, whatever you do should be sent at least 4 weeks (one month) out from your date.
2- Pick your menu appropriately for the time of your event. Hosting an event through dinner hours but only serving hors’deuvres isn’t the best way to go. Decide what you, and your budget, wants to serve and then set the time. *Want guests to mingle and move around? Stay away from a sit down dinner. Choose a cocktail time (5-7pm) and serve passed appetizers.
3- Be smart when choosing a venue. There are lots of things to consider when choosing the place for your event. Consider the weather and the season, the seating, the lighting and any capabilities you require such as power supply for live music or a kitchen for your caterers.
